Kaithuna
CBSE Class 12 Computer Science project for emergency response and coordination in Kottayam District.
About the project
I built Kaithuna to show how a district emergency control room could receive public reports, create incidents, dispatch response units and keep the public informed.
Report emergencies, track a report, check advisories and use the public map.
Operators receive calls and reports, manage incidents and dispatch response units.
A separate simulation creates and completes sample responses for the project showcase.
Data & sources
- Street and place data
- OpenStreetMap, with OpenFreeMap / OpenMapTiles for the vector street map.
- Satellite imagery
- Esri World Imagery.
- Terrain
- Mapterhorn elevation tiles.
- Road routing
- OSRM using OpenStreetMap road data.
- District boundaries
- Reference GeoJSON stored with the project.
- Project records
- MySQL records created by reports, staff actions, seeded sample data and the isolated demo simulator.
Maps & routing
The public, Operations and demo maps use separate server data feeds. Ground response vehicles use road routes; air units may use direct routes.
Emergency-place results are kept conservative. Specialist and non-acute facilities are not shown as emergency response locations.
Project notes
This is a school project, not an official emergency service. For a real emergency in India, call 112.
